Freedom Monday

Happy Monday, bloggees! Is that a word? Welllll… Happy Monday overcomer! I want to talk to you today about freedom.

Freedom is the state of not being imprisoned or enslaved. I am talking about freedom in your mind. The jail cell that surrounds your mind – and you can’t find the key.

How do you know your mind is imprisoned? You have no hope for your future. Your language is negative and self-deprecating. You’re angry and frustrated more often than not. You’re bitter and unforgiving. No one, not one person on this planet understands what you’re going through, nor do they care (at least in your mind).

Can I tell you something? Your mind is connected to your heart. I know this is a bit much on a Monday morning, but this is the start of a brand new week. This is the opportunity for change. And freedom.

I understand that life has been hard and that you’ve struggled. I get it. There’s always going to be some type of struggle. So why not be free in the struggle? Why not have some joy in the struggle?

Let’s say you have panic attacks and you live in fear of the next one happening. How about you live your life and have fun and deal with the next one “if” it comes? Why sit around and wait for it to happen? I remember, and know all too well the pain of existing with anxiety and depression. I just want you to know that there’s another side to this coin. It’s not over. It’s not too late!

Let’s look at a construction worker. They have all their tools and they’re ready to go. They know there’s a struggle to get this house built, but they are willing to do the back breaking work to get it done. There’s a new house at the end of the struggle.

Are you willing to struggle for your future? Perhaps you want a degree. Perhaps you want to do hair. Maybe you want to feed the homeless. What are you going to do to get there? Are you going to let thoughts hinder you from your future? The time is going to pass any way. You’re not going to die, so we might as well get busy living.

Thought for today:
So if the Son sets you free, you are truly free. John 8:36
It’s the will of our Father that you be free. Yes, you will have struggles, but it will be worth it. Soar! Go after your dreams! Live! Overcome these obstacles! You can do it! I know you can.
